Club Meeting Minutes May 6, 2006
Following the conclusion of the end of the year banquet at the Strawberry Canyon Club Room…
…and after all but 4 of the continuing Cal students present at the banquet had frantically fled from the building…(the other 2 Cal students present for the meeting were Val & Andres, but they won’t be around next year so they can’t be officers…best of luck to you guys!!)
so, on with the minutes…
OFFICER ELECTIONS FOR THE 2006-2007 SCHOOL YEAR
We decided that we should keep the 4 remaining officers (the only 4 continuing Cal students at the meeting…) in their current positions (except that Lena switched her position…otherwise they are the same):
President = Ben (11/13 for, 2/13 abstain) (cuz we all know that it’s a given that Ben is Prez…)
VP = currently vacant
Treasurer = also currently vacant
Safety Officer = Lena (13/13 for) (cuz she’s Pre-Med, but not first aid or CPR certified…)
Secretary = Shannon (13/13 for) (cuz you’d all really miss my sarcastic comments, huh…)
Fundraising Chair = again currently vacant …and I wonder why…
Historian = Paul (13/13) (cuz we couldn’t convince him to be VP or prez in training in preparation for when Ben possibly leaves at the end of next year…and leaves us prez-less)
We plan to fill the remaining positions at a gym club meeting in the fall…hopefully we will have a lot of eager and excited freshies!!
We also decided that at our next club meeting we move to amend the Gym Club’s constitution so that non-student club members can be officers…yay!! There are 3 officer positions required by the Sport Clubs Office (or something) and they are President, Development Officer (usually this is our VP, but right now it is Paul, our resident Historian), and Safety Officer. As long as students fill these positions, then other positions may be held by NON-STUDENTS as long as there is a student majority (we checked all this with Mark, as he was also present for the banquet, ‘fun game,’ and club meeting).
ANNOUNCEMENT FROM LEILAH (I nominate her for every officer position):
Regarding the Clinic that will be at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut…
DATES: October 27-29 (so the Halloween meet will have to be late or early)
COST: $30/person (but the travel cost will be WAY more cuz, as usual, we have to fly all the way across the country…but we will work on subsidizing…)
Apparently about 9 people are interested so far…seems super flippin’ cool to me!!
